Why We Exist

Our role is to bring order to that complexity. We created Consumer Guardian Group because we saw how often consumers were left trying to navigate a difficult situation without enough context, structure, or reliable guidance.

Scott Jacobson
FOUNDER
After nearly 20 years in senior leadership at some of the biggest names in the timeshare industry, Scott came to understand vacation ownership from every angle. He saw how it could help families create unforgettable memories, but he also saw the stress and uncertainty many owners felt when their situation changed and they needed help finding a way out.
Inspired by the stories of families who felt overwhelmed and stuck, Scott founded Consumer Guardian Group to offer a more compassionate path forward. Built on transparency, trust, and a deep respect for the people it serves, the company was created to help timeshare owners find relief and reclaim their peace of mind.
Today, Scott continues to lead with purpose, surrounded by a team of attorneys and professionals who share his commitment to helping families move forward with confidence. To him, every successful exit is more than a business outcome—it is a chance for a family to breathe easier and begin again.
Outside of work, Scott is grounded by his wife, Amanda, and their two children. -

As Chief General Counsel for Consumer Guardian Group, Bob Dziewulski is committed to helping clients find clarity and confidence in the midst of complex timeshare disputes. A four-time Super Lawyers Rising Star, he has built a reputation for strong advocacy, meaningful results, and a relentless dedication to the people he represents.
As the managing partner of DZ Law PLLC in East Tennessee, Bob brings grit, optimism, and a deep sense of purpose to every case. With degrees in philosophy, public administration, and law, he combines thoughtful strategy with the discipline and focus he’s developed through years of leadership, entrepreneurship, and a passion for sports like soccer and MMA.
Away from work, Bob values the energy and humor of family life with his wife, also an attorney, and their three children. -

Joseph Maus
LEAD COUNSEL
Joseph P. Maus is a dual-licensed attorney in Pennsylvania and Tennessee who is passionate about helping consumers break free from unfair and misleading timeshare contracts. His path to law was shaped by more than a decade of public safety experience and a career centered on contracts, investigations, and high-stakes problem-solving, giving him a deep understanding of how to spot the traps hidden in the fine print.
Before entering private practice, Joseph served in public safety roles across Tennessee, where he advocated for people in vulnerable situations and worked within complex statutory systems. That real-world experience, paired with his business background and law degree from Lincoln Memorial University’s Duncan School of Law, gives him a practical, grounded approach to confronting deceptive sales tactics and aggressive developers.
Joseph’s legal work includes contract negotiation, business and nonprofit advising, government and administrative law, and consumer advocacy. He brings that same care and precision to timeshare cases, digging into the details to uncover misrepresentations, inconsistencies, and legal opportunities that can help clients regain control.
Based in Maryville, Tennessee, Joseph is dedicated to serving families both in his practice and in his community. When he’s not helping clients find relief, he enjoys the outdoors with his wife, Hannah, and their two sons.

Jordan Spurling
SENIOR LEGAL ANAYLST
Jordan Spurling, originally from Sunbright, Tennessee, served five years in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he learned to lead with discipline, integrity, and a deep sense of responsibility to others. After leaving the military, he built a successful career in the timeshare industry, working in sales, operations, and management.
Over time, Jordan came to understand the pressure and confusion many families feel when trying to navigate timeshare contracts. Inspired by their stories, he shifted his focus to advocacy, where he could help people find real solutions and lasting relief. As a key member of the Consumer Guardian Group team, Jordan works directly with timeshare owners, listening carefully, explaining their options clearly, and guiding them toward a more secure financial future.
Outside of work, Jordan is also a certified personal trainer, reflecting his belief in structure, discipline, and long‑term growth. He lives in Knoxville with his wife and their three dogs, guided every day by service, integrity, and a genuine desire to make a difference.
